Happy Waitangi Day!

My 11 year old son told me Waitangi Day is fast approaching for you New Zealanders, and said I should wish Ron a happy.

I have no idea what Waitangi Day is, so I hope it is appropriate to wish you a happy one. If it is, have a great Waitangi Day!

One more unrelated thing, my son would also like to know what the best Architecture school is in New Zealand. Any ideas?

Thanks to you and your son for the holiday wishes.

Waitangi Day is a day set aside by the New Zealand Government as a 'public holiday' to be observed throughout the country as a National day of thanksgiving in commemoration of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi on 6th February,1840 between the Mori race and the British Crown.This treaty was originally intended to prevent the exploitation of land by some colonists,unfortunately however history eventually dictated otherwise.

Jack,I don't know much about architecture,but apparently both Auckland University and Victoria University (situated in our capital city of Wellington) offer five year Bachelor of Architecture courses as does the Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland (for undergraduates).Both Universities also provide shorter courses offering degrees in asociated subjects like building science,design,planning,property,etc.
