OK, this is not funny. I'm seeing a new color scheme; the phpbb logo at the top has been replaced with one that says "subVereor"; everyone's custom titles have been changed, and the list of links to the various sections of the site is different. I'd post a screen shot but I don't see a means of doing so. Have I been hijacked?

Oh boy, tomorrow is gonna be fun when everyone else logs back in!
For the record, I have made several changes to the Forum. Let's see if you all can figure them out! Ms I has pointed out 4 changes so far.

Well, thank goodness I'm not completely crazy. That is definitely one of the stranger online experiences I've ever had. (Dating notwithstanding.)
We no longer have the "you have no new private messages" (or "you have 1 new private message") link.
Not sure why this is affected, but when I right click my back button, the page showing (the new posts) search no longer appears in the list of previously viewed pages, which is rather inconvenient. I hope that can be restored.
And thanks for the new smilies. =D>

I notice that orange and blue seem to be the new theme colors. Go Cavs!
(That's a particularization of one Ms_Irreverent noticed; however, I started writing this post before paperboy's 9:04 post, so I'll worry about the puzzle aspect tomorrow.)

Private messages can be accessed via the PM's link up top.
I'm not sure what you're referring to regarding the back button and such. Perhaps the functionality is still there, but hidden in another way?

Yes, but it doesn't tell you there's a message the way it used to, so unless I happen to have checked email, I don't know there is one. It was a lot easier to just glance up and see that there were no messages or there was a new one.
Re the back button history, all I get now is a list that says "Marty Gallagher's Discussion Forum: Discuss Diet Basics, Fitness, etc.," regardless of which pages I actually open up or what I've done. In the previous incarnation, once I went to the index and hit view posts since last visit, the page listing the threads with new posts would show up in the back button history as "Marty Gallagher's Discussion Forum: Search." Or after posting, it'd say "post a reply" (or something like that). So now it's a guessing game to get back to the list.
And since we don't have rep here, what on earth is the meaning of the yin yang symbols?
(Oh, and I see yet another change, but I'll let someone else play.)

I like the sayings. I m guessig it says somehting different each one you fill up.
In other words how many post you have. SO the attention whore, have more posts than the primative people..and so on.
My guess woudl be it woudl fill up completely once you hit 500.

The titles do change as your post count increases. But I think I liked being "super user" a lot more than "attention whore."
Vinay, you're on to something. The filled-in yin yang symbols do seem to match up to the number of titles.

Ms. I, it looks like we've lost/gained different funcionalities as a result of the software upgrade. For the most part, this is the final version of this new interface, so we'll have to get used to its quirks. But I'm looking into different tweaks to make things more fun and interesting.

Perhaps Paperboy wishes to find out how far people's good natures extend--merely suggesting a possibility, speaking as a whore. I think I'll raise my prices as my lifts go up. Or perhaps the purpose is to elevate the literary tone of our contributions by encouraging us to draw upon the rich store of whore references and allusions in English and American literature.
While we're on the subject, has anybody ever read 'Tis Pity She's a Whore by John Ford, or seen it performed?

Enough hints on both sides. Just say the word to all us whores, Paperboy. I had thought you were a pretty nice guy. I'm prepared to believe that this sort of stuff is out of character for you . . . but public defamation has been known to change more than one positive attitude.

"Attention Whores" is what we used to call metrosexual exhibitionist bodybuilders, and, by extension, pro athlete showboats (Deion Sanders, et al). I thought it was funny, but then again, I'm just twisted like that.
Attention Whores rejoice, you will have a new title. Ms I, I'll wait until you have coffee in mouth before I reveal.

I can't speak for Ms_I, but I'm not a professional anything (since we can't be metrosexuals) . . . and while OCM may be disappointed that you're planning to unveil another name for us, I have mixed feelings about the term "attention whore." I recognize the spirit in which it is used here, and I'm cool with it. There is truth to it in my case. :) I'm just concerned that it may convey a less than friendly message to folks considering joining the community.

I've long thought they were fine creatures. They tend to be dangerous only when attacked or cornered . . . unless you are the sort of creature they're hardwired to regard as dinner! I was happy when my stepdaughter tagged me with that nickname (though she doesn't use it much anymore).
The little cat was, I think, an elementary school mascot. I tried the current cat first, but the image was too big then.
Glad you like my new cat.

Sorry, BC, I spent most of my time on campus and in sports bars!
I enjoyed Dayton, but the Midwest lifestyle was a little slow for this east coaster. I always said that if they transplanted all of Montgomery County, Ohio to the DC area, that would be a great place to be!

I was at UVA in 1988. Like I said... I was there for two months... majored in English cause I wanted to be a writer... but then when I was there I realized I had no time to write or do anything... so I bailed out... hithicked around the country and met lots of strange people. I wrote a bunch of junk... then I came back to the D.C. area... studied a lot of guitar saved up some money working construction... went to Chicago and played guitar all day and night. Playing blues guitar in Chicago was a pretty intense education.
